The Technical Museum Vienna is the largest technical museum in Austria and one of the most visited museums in Vienna. Located in the heart of the city, the museum offers a unique insight into the evolution of technology and science. Visitors can explore everything from steam engines and locomotives to computers and space rockets, in over 30 exhibition areas. The museum also hosts a range of special exhibitions and events, such as popular Science Slams and Adult Science classes. The museum can be rented for private events, conferences and meetings, and is also available for public hire.
The museum is located in Vienna’s Hofburg Palace, one of the largest and most impressive buildings in the city center. The palace is home to a number of other museums and cultural institutions, including the Natural History Museum, the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the Museum of Decorative Arts, the Museum of the Habsburg Empire, and the Museum of the Carpathians. |

The museum is home to the world’s largest collection of machinery from the Vienna Fire Brigade, and has one of the largest collections of firefighting equipment in the world. The Technical Museum is a great place to visit for history buffs and science enthusiasts alike. The museum is open daily from 10am to 6pm (except 25 December). Entrance is free of charge, but donations are welcome!
