Karlovy Vary – Spa Town in Czech Republic

Karlovy Vary –

Karlovy Vary is a spa city in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic and one of most beautiful Natural spring and spa town in Czech Republic . It lies on approximately 130 km (81 mi) west of Prague. I t is named after Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor and the King of Bohemia, who founded the city.

Karlovy Vary is the site of numerous hot springs (13 main springs, about 300 smaller springs,
and the warm-water Teplá River), and is the most visited spa town in the Czech Republic.
The historic city centre with the spa cultural landscape is well preserved and is protected by law as
an urban monument reservation. It is the largest spa complex in Europe.
In 2021, the city became part of the transnational UNESCO World Heritage Site under the name “Great Spa Towns of Europe” because of its spas and architecture from the 18th through 20th centuries.

The uniformity & Colorful Buildings of the town and the aerial view is a treat to watch . I recommend the Diana Funicular View from the top is a must to visit . On your way through out the town, Travelers get to see spring taps with different temperature level . We tried few spring water , it tastes OK with a bit of iron taste. Beer spa is also very famous.

How to reach –

Travellers depending on Public Transport will need to reach Prague, from there, bus and train facilities are available to reach Karlovy Vary. If you have car, it will be good as public transport in the town seems to be very limited and it will require a lot of walking to explore the Town.
