Germany – Berlin – City of Landmarks – P6

Berlin Wall –

Another iconic landmark of the city is the Berlin Wall, which was built in 1961 to separate East and West Germany. It was a symbol of the Cold War between the two countries and stood for more than 28 years before it was finally demolished in 1989. The remains of the wall can still be seen around the city as a reminder of this dark period in history. In addition to the wall, there are numerous other attractions in Berlin including world-class museums, beautiful parks, and buzzing nightlife.

Today, pieces of the wall are scattered throughout the city as a reminder of a turbulent past. To get a real taste of history, visitors can take a tour of the East Side Gallery, which is an outdoor museum that features some of the most iconic graffiti art from the wall.
